- High quality and longevity -
Fine art paper is characterized by its high quality and longevity. It is a neutral pH paper, composed of natural fibers, such as cotton or alpha cellulose. No artificial brighteners are added to them and they are usually thicker and heavier than regular papers.
These types of paper have a special composition that guarantees the correct distribution of pigments on the surface of the paper and provides maximum quality.
All of them are manufactured with special care and each manufacturer has a wide variety of options for the most varied types of images, from smooth or textured papers, matte, semi-gloss, glossy and even metallic.
The main manufacturers are: Hahnemühle, Awagami, Canson and ILFORD.
Fine art paper is usually made from cotton or alpha cellulose, lignin-free, acid-free, with a neutral pH, light-resistant and long-lasting. Without the use of gelatin or other animal derivatives.
They are manufactured with pure water, without the need for chemical treatment and are naturally resistant to fungi and bacteria.
The different types of coatings (a type of protective layer) will determine the characteristics of the paper finish: matte, semi-gloss or glossy. We have options for smooth or textured papers.
The choice of paper is quite personal and each work may, in itself, require a specific type of support.
Alternatively, in fine art, we also have the option of printing on canvas (fabric), which can also have a matte, semi-gloss or glossy finish.
- Certification -
Papers, whether made from cotton fibers, koso or similar, as well as mineral pigment inks, must be certified and standardized.
